This year, local lesbian legend Ash Beckham --8 million YouTube views-- is headlining the 18th annual Open Door Fund (ODF) LGBT fundraising dinner. As the largest funder of the LGBT community in Boulder County, the ODF has granted more than $400,000 to LGBT programs. The ODF received a $150,000 matching grant from the Twisted Foundation (over the next three years) to challenge our community to reach the $1,000,000 endowment goal. Thanks, Twisted!!
Author Michelle Theall, Boulder resident and an out gay Christian, will speak about her recent book, Teaching the Cat To Sit: A Memoir. The book is about growing up gay and Catholic in the Texas Bible Belt and experiencing discrimination for her family in church.
