Connecting Boulder County’s LGBT Community Since 1994

Ambassadors

The Out Boulder Ambassadors are a diverse group of LGBTQ and Allied community volunteers and staff who live or work in Boulder County. Ambassadors offer to serve as contacts for people new to the community, newly 'out' or have questions, and help people find connections in the community.

Jean Hodges is the mother of a gay son, a co-founder with her husband of PFLAG Boulder County.  She was president of our local chapter from l996 to 2010 when she became National PFLAG Vice-President.  Jean is a former theatre director and teacher at Boulder High School, a community organizer and collaborator, and an activist for safe schools for LGBTQ youth and staff.  JeanInBldr@comcast.net

Phyllis Kline and Susan Palmquist are both chaplains and grief counselors who have worked for HospiceCare for almost two years. They are also a couple and have been together for 16 years. They recently relocated to Longmont from St. Louis, MO. While they have been in the same field professionally, this is the first time that they havehad the opportunity to lead a group together. To have their first group be the LGBTQ community is very exciting! They are enjoying the more progressive environment in theBoulder area and consider themselves to be “multifaith” chaplains. They have a 19 year-old daughter in Missouri and a slightly neurotic dog who loves to hike with them.

To find out more about becoming an Ambassador, please contact Jen at jspolnik@outboulder.org. Or you can apply for the program by filling out this form

Please note - the Ambassadors' program is not a dating service. Ambassadors will be asked to sign an agreement that discusses appropriate and professional boundaries when serving as an Ambassador.
