A broad coalition of community organizations has come together to bring to Boulder a traveling exhibition from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC titled "Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals 1933-1945." This exhibition will be on display April 21, 2011 through May 22, 2011 at the Boulder Public Library (1001 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder, CO 80302).
It was 1985 and I was walking down Castro Street toward Market on a gorgeous June San Francisco day. I had graduated from High School in Houston, Texas just a week earlier and now I was surrounded by the exact opposite of where I had grown up – a liberal fantasyland which felt truly unreal – yet it wasn’t the rainbow flag festooned boulevard then that it is today; instead, black bunting and sorrow ruled the neighborhood.

North American singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joe Stevens is a third-generation professional musician in a long line of restless westward moving souls. He caught the songwriting bug at 15 and has been at it ever since, finding many ways to use the craft to pitch in for the human cause. Originally from Sacramento, California, he received a Bachelor of Music from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, and has been touring and wandering the US for the last ten years.
