Program Interns

Devon Quispé (he/him)

Hi, I’m Devon! I’m a rising senior at CU Boulder pursuing a degree in Computer Science in addition to my pre-medicine studies! As a Colorado native and proud member of the local ballroom community, I’m passionate about uplifting and interacting with my queer and trans folks whether it’s offering candid advice or working on a project to uplift our community. As an aspiring physician, I hope to continue this work in medicine and I believe my time at OBC will inform this journey and the changes I plan to make. In fact, I have some big plans for my time here at Out Boulder County so be on the lookout for things coming out of the QTPOC program!

When I’m not working on a project or enjoying the outdoors, you’ll find me at home enjoying one of my many pastimes. In particular, I love to play music! I’ve played the cello for half of my life but outside of orchestra, I keep myself busy practicing the guitar and ukulele. I also enjoy sewing and crocheting, and I’ll occasionally code up fun programs in C or Python when I feel inspired too!

Master in Social Work Intern

Emmett Goodgold (They/He)

Hi! I am Emmett and I am a first year MSW student at DU and an intern here at Out Boulder County- and enjoying every moment of it! Currently, I am the most interested in studying behavioral health with a focus on youth populations. As a queer and trans person, Out Boulder is everything that I wanted to have as a child so to be able to give my time and assistance to this community is beyond incredible. To be able to be a part of the creation and maintenance of safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth is something I will never take for granted. I like to spend my free time with my dog, Booker, whether it be going on long walks together, taking trips to the park or taking a nap on the couch. I also really enjoy playing video games with friends, playing Dungeons and Dragons, spending time with the people who are most important to me, and listening to all kinds of music! The youth and staff I have encountered in my time here have been some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and  I am incredibly excited to continue my work with this wonderful organization, and I cannot wait to see where my time here takes me!

Communications Intern

Lizzie Kalt (she/her)

Hi, I'm Lizzie! I'm a senior at CU Boulder majoring in Communications and minoring in Women and Gender Studies! I am excited to be working at OBC and I love working with the queer community. I hope to make an impact at OBC and help out with communications, including the newsletter and social media. I'm an advocate for reproductive rights and have worked at a pro-abortion organization to ensure that Colorado abortion remains safe and legal.

I love hiking, yoga, painting, and knitting in my free time. I also enjoy music and going to concerts! I am an animal lover and enjoy hiking with my dog, Penny!

  • Bryce (they/he)

Hello hello! My name is Bryce (they/he pronouns) and I am an undergraduate student at CU Boulder majoring in environmental engineering with a concentration in environmental policy. Growing up in Colorado, I’ve always done everything that I could to engage with my communities and people around me, and I very much hope to continue that while I’m working with OBC. I’ve been a part of CU’s oSTEM (Out in STEM) for about a year and a half, and I very much look forward to continuing to engage with and uplift my queer friends and communities while I’m here!

Some of the things that I enjoy doing are reading books and rock climbing; if I’m not buried in work, you will more often than not find me either at CU’s rock wall or curled up on a couch with a book in one hand and a mug of tea in the other. I love all things sci-fi and fantasy, so if you ever need someone to listen while you explain in-depth headcanons, I’m your stop! I’m excited to be working with Out Boulder County, and if you ever see me around please come say hello!

  • Rae Rothe (they/them)

Rae grew up in Greeley, CO and is currently studying applied mathematics and secondary math education at the University of Colorado Boulder. They are passionate about math literacy, questioning norms, and disrupting the reproduction of systems of oppression in schools. After graduation, Rae is planning to teach math for a while before attending graduate school to continue their studies and do research in education.

They value the community they have found in Boulder and are excited to cultivate it by helping OBC’s events happen! In their free time, Rae enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking, art, and, of course, spending time with community.
